What SEED Society Analytics stores about you, why, and how to get rid of it. Last updated 6 October 2026.
This is a hobby site run by the North America society for its own members. It is not a company, it sells nothing, and it has no interest in you beyond showing you the society's numbers. There is no advertising, no analytics product, no third-party tracker, and nothing here is sold or shared with anybody.
It does keep a small amount of your activity, because two features cannot work without it: the site remembers when you were last here so it can tell you what changed, and which forum threads you have opened so it can mark the rest unread. That is recorded for you rather than about you, it is never shown to another member, and it is listed in full below rather than left for you to guess at.
What is stored about you

Everything above is visible to other signed-in members, except your email, your password, your IP address, your visit times and which threads you have opened — none of which are shown to anybody. Your bug reports and your assistant transcripts are readable only by you and by administrators. The society's game data is not personal information at all — the exports describe the society as a whole and name no individual player.
The assistant
The chat panel is answered by a language model running on hardware the society runs, on its own network. Nothing you ask it leaves that network and no AI company is involved — there is no OpenAI, Anthropic or Google in this, no account with one, and no API key to one. Your questions are not training data for anybody.
It answers only from what this site has already imported and what
members have written here. Writing that belongs to one person stays
that way: a bug report is indexed against its reporter, and the
retrieval step will not show it to anybody else (see
assistant/corpus.py).
Your transcripts are deleted after 90 days whether you clear them or
not, and you can clear them yourself at any time from the panel. No
other member can read them. An administrator can, and that is worth
stating plainly rather than leaving you to discover it: the assistant
records, on every answer, any figure it used that its own sources could
not account for, and those are reviewed under /manage/
— which means reading the question and the answer with the name
of whoever asked beside them. It is how a wrong answer gets found and
fixed, and it is the only use the page allows: it is read-only, with no
reply and no rating.
Signing in with Discord
When you sign in with Discord, this site asks Discord for two things and no more:
- Who you are — your Discord account id and username. Your email is never requested.
- Whether you are in this society's Discord server — that one server, answered yes or no. The site does not ask for, and cannot see, a list of the other servers you are in.
The access token Discord issues is used for those two questions and then discarded. It is never written to the database, never written to a log, and never kept in your session, so this site cannot act on your Discord account afterwards and there is no live credential of yours in any backup.
You can unlink Discord at any time from your profile, as long as you have set a password first — otherwise unlinking would lock you out, and there is no reset email here to rescue you.
Cookies and browser storage
Two cookies, both necessary, neither of any use to anybody else: one that keeps you signed in, and one that protects forms from being submitted by another site on your behalf.
One thing is kept in your browser's own storage and never sent anywhere: whether you have the sidebar collapsed. How you arrange your dashboard is stored against your account instead, so it follows you to another device.
There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no consent banner to dismiss.
Backups
The database is copied to a file on the same machine, on a schedule, so that the society's history survives a disk or a mistake. A backup is a complete copy, so it contains everything on this page that was there when it was taken.
They are kept on the society's own machine, never uploaded anywhere, and the oldest are deleted as new ones are made. That has one consequence worth stating plainly: deleting your account does not reach backups taken before you deleted it, so your data stays in those until they rotate out — a couple of weeks, on the settings the site ships with.
Who else sees it
Nobody. The site runs on a machine the society controls, with its own database file. There is no third-party analytics, no advertising network, and no external font or script host: the one library the charts need is served from this site itself, and the language model behind the assistant and Seed Weekly runs on the society's own hardware rather than at a service.
Three honest exceptions, none of which carry anything you typed. If the local copy of the chart library fails to load, the page falls back to a public CDN, which would see your address. Signing in with Discord is, unavoidably, a conversation with Discord — their privacy policy covers their side of it. And the site fetches Klang's announcements and the game's status from their servers, which it does on its own schedule in the background rather than while you are reading, so those requests come from the society's machine and not from you.
Getting rid of it
Delete your account from your profile, at any time, without asking anybody. It takes your profile, your picture, your display name, your Discord link, your watchlist, your dashboard arrangement, your assistant transcripts, your forum votes, the record of which threads you had read, and the seedlings and businesses you listed — with their pictures.
What it does not take is what you posted for other people to read. Forum threads and replies, blog comments and bug reports stay, with your name removed from them: they are shown afterwards as written by “a former member”. This is deliberate. Deleting them would take away half of conversations other members are still in, and leave replies answering a question nobody can read. If you want something you posted taken down as well, ask an administrator — they can remove any post, and will.
Two other things stay. The society's game data, because it describes the society rather than any person — though the record that an import happened keeps the username of whoever uploaded it. And backups taken before you deleted your account, until they rotate out, as above.
